That also works. But it leaves out informative bits like home/road records (or the fact mentioned above, that SJ played 15 of its first 20 on the road).
It's practically a cliche among hockey people that you need to get 20 games into a season before you can tell what a team has really got, so I thought I would choose that figure and see if anything interesting turned up.
