Tks all. And yes, they make it tough almost immediately. In my case, her former owner has been one of my best friends for 14 years and was a former roommate. I knew Picasso for most of her life. It was one of the big reasons why I took them in.
The other one hasn't clued in yet. He looks around periodically when doing things like eating and wonders why she isn't there, but he definitely hadn't realized that he is on his own now. Today might change that, as this workday is the first time in his life that he will have been entirely alone with no other human or cat presence.
