It's just speculation heaped with speculation on top of a predisposition to dislike Glencross because he's not under 25 years old. He still wears an "A" and it certainly doesn't seem like the one guy that sees everything close up and gets to make the call on the lineup and icetime thinks that Glencross missing an optional practice is a big deal.
As Locke said, Glencross is battling through injuries because the Flames are shorthanded as is with guys that can't play (Colborne, Backlund, Stajan and Raymond). If these guys were healthy he'd take a game or two off to recover? Maybe. Bottom line is he's battling through some injuries and he's getting slagged for missing an optional skate. Garbage.

I got carried away typing and felt although optional, he should be practicing along with the majority of the squad.
Anyone who says Glencross has been as good as he was last year, or the year before, or before that is fooling themselves. I hate using points as a indicator of how a player is playing but they truly dont lie in Glencross' situation.
Many of you assume that calling a player out means I think he should be shipped into the middle of the ocean and never seen again.
In reality, I know Glencross is a incredible face of this team and within the community.
According to some on this board, the injuries have been going on for a while. Why not get back to 100% and come back and be the player we have seen in years past who put the puck in the net and stays out of the box?
