Interview with Huska:
OT game went fast. Happy they found a way to win that game.
Hard schedule coming up. Wants to make sure players are fresh as can be. Won't be letting up on practices, but will drop the time on ice in practice. Will have some days off. Want compete level and intensity to be the same. Practice will get them through the tough stretch of games.
Working on stick position in practice. That's a mandate in Calgary. Hartley wants players to have good stick position to kill plays early and deflect pucks. Players have improved keeping the sticks on the puck rather then up when finishing hits.
Game plan is getting out of end early, gets without puck pushing the play into the offense zone. Wants the other team to play under pressure with no time or space to make plays.
Happy to have Vause back. They know what he's about. Speedy guy and gets in on forechecks to make defencemen lives difficult. Done a great job in Colorado.
Says AHL and WHL coaching is about the same. Deals with parents, school, girlfriend issues. Deals with ice time issues. Biggest challenge for him was getting used to the pace of the game. Him and players worked through this problem and now playing up tempo style.
