The numbers are off though because you’re only taxed in that state for 41 home games, (unless you’re in a state with multiple teams). The other 41 games are taxed on where that game was played. For a true reference as well you need to compare it with a cost of living index.

My understanding is you are only taxed where you are based. For example in my previous job I went and worked some in BC, Sask, and Manitoba. I only ever paid AB taxes.
However, places like Tennessee have an out of town luxury tax I do believe.
