It just seemed more contrived to me in Breaking Bad. In SoA, it was dumb thugs making bad decisions in the heat of the moment. In Breaking Bad, it just seemed like a random out of the blue way to push the plot forward. It reminded me of a Greek play where gods would interfere just to move the plot.

But yeah, I agree... the same justification can be used I suppose.
