But if the season ended today, Crosby wins the Hart. He's on nearly 2ppg pace (150pts). In today's NHL that's comparable to 219pts in the 1980s. Agree that Gio would be a nominee.
By the end of the year, if Gio is in the 60-65point range and a +20 or better, playoffs or not (but in the hunt obviously), Gio should be a shoe-in for Norris. But I will be happy with just a nomination.
The fact that Gio keeps us in the running for playoffs speaks about the quality of his game. Even with 5ish forwards out for the last 5 games, we are scoring as well or better than the first 11games. Tells me all I need to know.
At this point I'm thinking Gio's gonna get 5yrs & 8m (total 40m). And WORTH IT!!
