It might not end his career but it can't help, so not worth it at all. 1 a year? For the best player in the league and the highest rated prospect in nearly a decade that 1/1000 chance is not worth the biggest salary in the NHL for the next 15 years. The kids got pure gold in his hands and he's mucking it up in an emotional reaction, go to the bench and tell the enforcer who slashed him would be the smart thing. He simply shouldn't be fighting, the risk is exponentially greater than the momentary emotional reward.
