I didn't look at the latest points totals, he was at 4 ppg for some stretch. Eitherway, 2.8 ppg is well above Crosby's season which was 2.5 if I'm not mistaken?
The point still stands, McDavid is in his own tier. Eichel is good, but McDavid is the best.

Crosby's was 2.71, which he sustained through 62 games. So no, not "well above" by my estimation. I disagree that he is in his own tier—at least I am not quite ready to claim as much. By mid season, we will know betters how these two stack against one another.
