I suspect that has as much to do with how infrequently he has actually been in the Flames lineup as much as anything.
Regardless, when he has played I don't think Jones has ever been terrible. There have been many times when he has not been very good, but much of this also occurred in a time when most of the players for the Flames were performing poorly. I maintain that in the few times he played last year and now this season he has looked generally useful. He gets a bad rap because of injuries, his brutal contract and the cost in the trade that brought him here, but he is predominantly better than he has been judged here.
