National Post has requested to speak with Rogers executives in charge of the decision.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen this week,” Cherry told the radio hosts. “But who knows? I say what I think and it gets you in trouble sometimes.”
He was on the air for nearly 10 minutes on Monday. One host offered him “10, 11 minutes, whatever you want,” to return.
“Maybe I’ll need the job by next Monday,” Cherry said, with a chuckle.
