I do this about twice a year. Once to Moab/Fruita, once to watch the Flames on the road. I get more vacation than my wife, and she sees no reason I should spend it alone at home by myself. Whenever she wants to take a trip without me, I'm all for it. We have done one big trip together every year.

I more feel guilty about spending our money on things she doesn't get to enjoy. We drive to Moab, so it's usually about $1000 for the week. The Flames trips vary by location.
