Surely they have enough creative people there that they could have done something a little more interesting for a title, even without the connection I made in my head on this particular one.
Captain, the problem with the Force is kind of like Dragonball Z where it's an arms race and everyone just gets more and more powerful. ("The midichlorian count is over 9000!!") Since we're going forward in time and not back to the Old Republic, the Force is probably going to get more ridiculous and not less.

I hope not, making the force mega powerful is the ultimate cheat.
It killed a bunch of the earlier EU stuff, when Jedi Apprentices were flinging super star destroyers across a star system.
Or Jacen turning into a luminous being that disintegrated the leader of the Vong.
One of the best lines in the whole trilogy took place in the Phantom Menace when young Anakin gushes, that nobody could kill a Jedi, and Qui-gon sadly looked at him and said "I wish that was true"
The force give precognition in fights, heightened speed and strength and it allows you to move objects, and it can give some visions (Palpatine and Yoda and Anakin).
But the minute that they make it so utterly powerful that they can basically wipe out thousands with a wave of the hand it becomes a cheat because the only way that you can beat that is to have someone with even more power.
I mean the whole "Size Matters Not" was really mis-interpreted by the Star Wars universe, and time after time hack writers and hack comic book writers took full advantage of it when they got cornered in their story.
I mean I kept waiting for a Jedi to jump in front of the super laser in ANH 40th anniversity DVD and block it with his lighsaber, and then make a crushing your head motion to destroy the deathstar from the planet.
