Well the engine in the Rav4 along with Toyota's reputation ended up being what sold me on the vehichle. Although I will admit that I didn't get a chance to see the Mazda or Acura as neither one is realy out in abundance right now. We were running into a time limit too, or I would have preferred to wait a couple months. Unfortuanately my wife can't drive my car because it's a standard, and she staunchly refuses to use transit to get to work. The Rav has a very similar powerplant to the Lexus RX350 and it seems like a better engine than the 4.0 6 cylinder in the 4 Runner and FJ cruiser. Power wise it compares to the 4.7 V8 and the gas mileage it's supposed to get and what people claim it gets in reviews is impressive. I certainly loved the power it had when I drove it and told the wife that if you want an SUV we're getting this one.
