I wouldn't say minivan but probably more station wagon in denial. As car companies are trying to blend the thing people love about SUV's into more car like objects, I think this is the shape to come for a while. Kind of ironic as it's basically a wagon which so many people have such negative connotations.
I'd love to get a wagon for the utility factor (yet still driving like a car) but my buddies (and g/f) would never let me live it down. Damn peer pressure.
I've taken the RAV4 for a test drive and the engine in that thing is unreal. Unfortunately, there seems to be a million of the things running around, and it's a little more roly poly in the handling than I'm used to.
Car & Driver as well as most reviews of it have been glowing, but I'm a little concered about the fuel economy of it - turbo engines can be ridiculously thirsty. WHich would negate one of the reasons for going with a smaller SUV. C&D's observed fuel economy was 4mpg less than the EPA's....
