Typically, you would get a list of names if you were a Forensic Investigator, but if you read the rest of the sentence "The extent and power of this ability depends on the moderator that made the role" Maybe Maz wanted to limit the info I got because I already had 1 other power, being a Mason. The power of death investigating was called Dry Bones. Which I'm sure Mazrim tied into Dry Bowser and Dry Koopas.
My character has nothing to do with whether I'm town or mafia. Remember the beginning of the game? It's just flavour and was randomly selected.
I don't know how often mafia talk in their scum rooms, but for SS and myself, we talked when we had a theory, sometimes it would be hours before either of us would get back to each other.
