It has only been two games so far, and to be fair to Sven, it is gonna take a little time to get up to game speed in the NHL. It might come in the next few games for him, and I hope it does, as I am sure the transition from the AHL to the NHL is greater than it shows on TV.
The only thing concerning to me, as someone previously mentioned, is the apparent lack of desperation in his game. Maybe I am watching his game too closely, but he just doesn't play with that edge, and when you are not scoring, it seems like it'd be pretty important to bring at least that to the table. Blocked shots, hits, takeaways, clears out of your own zone - things that don't show up in a boxscore, but are very crucial to keeping your ice time above 0. I just don't see it right now, however, I personally hope he gets 10 games this stint to adjust to show what he has developed into thus far. Because really, what is the rush? If he's not ready, send him back after 10 to continue to develop, and if after 10 games he is starting to show signs of coming around, fantastic. Either way, he's too young to write off, yet old enough he should be starting to make his mark on an NHL roster.
