Volunteer Software
Recently I've moved from a volunteer to now coordinating the volunteers for the rally races in the west. I've already made massive improvements on how volunteer communications are handled, but realize there's a still room for a lot more.
We handle 3-4 events a year, with required number of volunteers at 40-100 per event. Retention has been a big problem in the past which I'm working on, otherwise it's generally the same pool of volunteers for each event.
Currently for each event, we send e-mails out to all previous volunteers, then they use adobe formscentral to actually signup, then scheduling is done manually in excel. This is fairly time intensive.
What I would like to do is find some software or other solution which can do the following:
- Volunteer login to change info or remove themselves from database
- Able to keep track of volunteers previous assignments (ie, work experience)
- Allow volunteer to signup for an open position and have it assigned to him
- Allow volunteers to see the schedule for themselves and their team
- Allow volunteer to converse with their other team members to arrange carpooling transportation
Anyone have some advice?
