What incredibly terrible logic. So, by my reading, we were wrong to keep Monahan up because it hurt our draft position(even if we'd finished 3rd we'd have still take Bennett FFS!), burned a year off his ELC(like that matters) and will now have to pay him a bit more when his renewal comes up.
Imo, Sean is in a much better position now than he would have been had he been a rookie coming into the season off the back of an 80-100 point year in the OHL. I mean, look at our Centre problems. I wouldn't feel comfortable throwing him in as a 1st line centre at this point in the season had he not played 75 games in the NHL(some in the top line) last season.
There is a massive difference between Sean and Reinhart. Sean proved he was ready for the big time and yes things got difficult for him, but his scoring remained consistent and I never truly felt he didn't deserve his spot on the team. Reinhart is clearly not ready, hence his send down.
The article makes a well constructed argument, but the logic is non-existent.
