You implied it was now or never for him. I was stating he has plenty of time as he is only 22.
All I am saying is that he has another 3 years before he is a free agent and we don't have to jump to conclusions on whether he is a bust or not, based on an emergency call up due to injuries. I am fairly certain they wanted him to stay down in the AHL for most if not all or this season.
Going from saying it is time for him to prove it in your original post, to what if he is still average after 2 years as stated above, are two completely different time frames. If after 2 more seasons he can't crack the roster then I will agree with you, but to say he has to prove it on this emergency call up is where I think you were off base.
