What we'd expect from a Glencross trade all really hinges on if the team is contending.
If we are contending, we would likely be looking to receive a roster player to improve one of our positions immediately (ie right wing/defense). There are two challenges in this situation: 1) We'd probably need to trade Glencross + someone else (unless Glenny is having a tremendous year). It is the someone else part of the trade that scares me. I don't want to ship away prospects or draft picks as we are still rebuilding. 2) Glenny is in the last year of his contract and the teams that would be interested in such a player would also likely be in a playoff contending position. It is hard to pull a roster player off of a playoff contender unless that player are also a rental or the team that we are trading has a real surplus at a position that we need or a real deficit that Glenny can fill.
If we aren't contending, we can of course trade Glencross for a draft pick or a prospect or two. It won't address our current holes but that's ok because it will help the rebuild.
