They could have gone for Hiller. For all we know, Hiller just wanted starting minutes on another team, and Buffalo could have easily given him that. They could have offered money for Stastny. From what I remember, I never heard them in the mix for any of the top free agents. Maybe the players didn't want to go there, but I am pretty sure Murray didn't make a push for them by any means. As I've already mentioned, they have great prospect depth, yet they aren't willing to give away any of it for any quality players out there. All Murray wants is picks and having a great prospect pool, and hoping the team contends within this decade. But he is definitely the reason why this team is losing. Why do you think he is so open to trading Myers? He may be asking for the moon, but he's still on the block.
