This isn't like the YLYL thread debate (as an familiar example, as loathe as I am to bring it up again), where there were two main issues that I agree were problems: first, some of the pictures were definitely outside the standards of public modesty, at least for North America, and - far worse in my opinion - there was overt hostility towards women that weren't up to the exacting standards of a bunch of pasty nerds on the internet. Some jerk making rude commentary about the F&I girls at a game WOULD be wrong, but losers being losers is a problem that will be solved right after world peace breaks out. The problem still doesn't lie with what entertainment is being provided, but rather the attitudes of those watching it - attitudes that would be far less prevalent in a society that eschewed leftover puritanism for relaxed tolerance.

Really?

So you're saying that every bit of entertainment for every age needs to be sexualized because we're sexual beings? All I have said is I do not think selling sex at an event for fans of ALL ages and BOTH sexes IS NECESSARY. I don't know how the NHL survived before ice girls....
Can males really not go 3 hours without seeing some booty? People can get out their smart phone if the addiction is so strong.
The argument I've heard a few times is that "well, the girls at such and such bar wear much worse" doesn't hold value here. I am not sitting in a bar with my seven year old son while guys behind me have their kicks with comments like "Damnnnn, girl", "Oh Baby", "Niiiiiicccceee", etc. I am at an event for ALL ages. When I go to a bar or a place for adults that's a fair comment. I expect that. I can't bring my son into one of those establishments and even if I could, I wouldn't think it appropriate at his age. Yet this happens at a Flames game. (other things happen too but this is a thread about the F&I girls)
I don't see F&I girl type outfits at Cineplex when I go to the movies. That's entertainment for all ages so surely the snack sellers, ticket takers and cleaning crew there should all be female and have the same type skimpy outfits, right? Probably get a lot more men out to the theaters. "Oh baby, bend over and pick up that half eaten bag of popcorn." Give me a break.
So I'll say it again. I do not believe that selling sex is necessary at family events. I think that is where most of the people with the "I want my T&A at Flames games" comments and I disagree. Somehow Flames games are 2 to 1 males so it seems they believe it is for males only and not an event for ALL ages and BOTH sexes.
Honestly I enjoy the Flames games with or without them. I give them little or no attention. I go for the game on the ice. I have not written the Flames about some imagined hate I have about the female body, I have not stopped going to games because they're there. I have only given my opinion in a thread specifically about the them.
For the record I didn't care about the YLYL thread. The comments and the comments that spilled into out the other threads yeah they crossed the line, the thread I didn't really go into once I knew what YLYL was. Easy enough to avoid (when contained in that one thread) if I didn't want to see it, right?
