I read a letter in the Calgary Herald today, titled
Fire and Ice Girls a sexist anachronism. So I looked up the
definition of anachronism, which is:
Quote:
a thing belonging or appropriate to a period other than that in which it exists, especially a thing that is conspicuously old-fashioned.

From the article in the Herald:
Quote:
I am very disappointed in this day and age that society promotes this type of action, and I can't even go and enjoy a family sporting event without having blatant exploitation of girls thrown in my and everyone else's face.

I end up at hockey games a couple of times a year and I always enjoy when the Fire and Ice Girls flit around out there. In light of our recent discussion on sexism, though, what do you guys think of the F&I Girls? Personally, I like it. Maybe it's sexist, but I hope it stays.
