They printed what the allegations were and clearly stated there was no proof. In light of the firing and his public statement I don't think there's a problem with them shining some light on potential information that may have been at the root of CBC's decision.
If these people actually came forward and he's trying to paint this as "CBC fired me because they're prudes" then he played with fire.
Part of the reason I'm fine with it is because I can't see a major corporation firing a very public figure without really vetting the situation legally. There's no way he gets fired for something as little as he's kinky and likes BDSM. It just wouldn't happen. Which is why I can easily buy something darker being under the surface.
