I don't think it's any secret that I think Jian Ghomeshi is one of the best (if not the best) interviewer I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. His show was unbelievably good. He was well researched, well written, genuine, personable and could get a good interview out of anyone (except Billy Bob Thorton).

I was shocked to hear about his firing from CBC, but wasn't shocked about the content of his subsequent statement. I heard somewhere a few years ago that he wanted to sleep with any and every woman with large, shall we say… 'personalities'.

But to each their own.

And I honestly believe that.

IF, what Jian Ghomeshi's statement says is true, and I do mean IF as we've only heard his version of events, then who cares what he's into in the bedroom. Whether he's into BSDM, 20-something girls, old men, or clowns… who cares? If it's amongst consenting adults, in the privacy of the bedroom, and it doesn't affect his work, have at 'er.

But let's be careful.

Remember, Jian Ghomeshi hired a top crisis management PR firm; he hired a top tier law firm; he's made a seemingly outrageous damages claim (likely as a PR move rather than looking for accurate legal compensation); and he's one of the nation's top journalists who specializes in writing narratives.

The CBC wouldn't let one of their top money makers go without justification. Especially after losing its overall top money maker ever, Hockey Night in Canada the very same year.

If it was just a bedroom issue, then why keep Sook Yin-Lee and fire Ghomeshi?

If it was an offensive thing, then why keep Don Cherry but fire Ghomeshi?

There seems to be much more to this story, assuming the CBC didn't just catch a case of the stupids this past week.

I'm interested to see what FACTS come out, I'll leave the speculation out for now.

I still need to decide whether it's fair to cheer or boo, this is Q.
