Joe was always a project and it is really hard for teams that draft these players to see them through. Heck I remeber 4-5 years ago when the trade Iggy talk was starting to make rounds Boston fans on HF tried to sell Colborne as potentially the next Joe Thornton saying he had all the tools. I remeber toronto fans saying he was a great prospect to get in return for Kaberle which he basically was.
When we got him he had almost passed the project phase into a salvage phase. It looked like he was on his last chance but it looks like he is in the right situation and is still developing. His size, and hands don't come by everyday and so far he has been fantastic especially using that frame to win battles and protect the puck.
I wouldn't be shocked if he hit 50pts this year especially if he sticks with Monahan and Hudler
