I imaged a handful of laptops, of various native OS builds, to 10.10 to test the upgrade and have seen numerous problems- particularly with booting. Seems like a PRAM and SMC reset fixes things, but my guess is the general public won't know how to do this and will subsequently be making a lot of genius appts. Also seen wifi problems. Third party software compatibility is always an issue with a new OS, but there seems to be a lot more issues this time around.

I had more problems with the production Yosemite upgrade installation than a clean beta installation.
I was having all kinds of strange performance issues on my 13" MBPr. Basically any of the fancy new transitions were a slideshow. Moving windows with translucency was like doing it on a remote desktop on a bad connection. Repaired disk permissions, reset PRAM & SMC and all seems to be well now, but only a handful of customers would even know to do that.
