I keep hearing the media refer to yesterday's "tragedy". Now don't get me wrong, the murder of an unarmed soldier guarding a memorial is a despicable and cowardly act, but to me yesterday had the potential to be a tragedy but was contained rather quickly thanks to the quick and courageous acts of some public servants. The needless death of Nathan Cirillo is tragic, but the events of yesterday are not a tragedy. If anything they proved how competent our law enforcement personnel are in preventing any other casualties
