You raise a child and teach them. Teach them right from wrong.
Parents influence is great. Are the parents of the shooter responsible for the actions of today? Absolutely. legally responsible? Absolutely not, not without further information though.
What happened today was not some kid stealing candy from walmart and getting busted. Kids will be kids. Guy gunned down a honor guard at a memorial in cold blood, then proceeded to the hill to do God knows what.
You obviously are not a parent. If you were you would not ask such a question. Are parents responsible for their kids? my parents are 68 and 66, and feel responsible for my actions till this day. Should they be punished for my actions? NO! Yet what I learned so much in life came from them!

That you are unable to feel any sort of compassion for the mother is your business and I'm not going to judge you on it but to try and take this self righteous bs moral high ground where you judge and scorn those that can won't cut it. You can wow! and ask me questions then answer them for yourself all you want then tell me how super duper your parents are but the fact of the matter is this.
I feel sorry for the lady, I feel compassion for the lady. You won't change that feeling. Accept it. You can waste all the energy you want, you can try and dump guilt and shame all you want but it's worthless because at the end of the day, I won't wear it .. you won't change a thing. Deal with it.
I am sorry for what she has to suffer just as I am sorry for the family of the victim. It's a sad affair all around.
