He was in his thirties had changed his name and converted to Islam, I'm not sure you can either blame mum or even assume she'd had any contact with him, in fact it's far likelier that his behaviour is in some pathetic way a rebellion against his upbringing, wouldn't doubt mum turns out to be a text book, slightly left leaning non religious liberal voter
