The 'there are important things in the world' argument is the weakest crutch of an argument anyone can use. Pretty much akin to the argument against internet privacy of "what do you have to hide?".

The 'letter' people are talking about here would take 5 mins. I still have a ton of day left. Why am I even bothering looking to sales on food when there's ebola around? Just go buy ramen, stuff it in your face and worry about fixing the chaos of the world!

But no one has asked YOU to be upset about Sportsnet. Considering you're really into poorly thought out 'bomb everything' arguments, I have one for you: don't click on a thread titled 'Let's Do Something About Sportsnet' to talk about how you don't want to do something about Sportsnet.

And why do you assume I liked the Sportnet coverage of the Flames before this year? I never have, they were always the worst. Exclusive rights to ANYTHING should be something consumers are against. We rarely ever win. The fact that the garbage we're seeing is the result of that is just salt in the wound.
It's starting to seem like you have some sort of vendetta out against the network for reasons unexplained. I clicked on the title simply due to the fact that I saw a completely illogical thread and probably gave it way too much credit....and yes you did ask everyone on CP to do something about Snet....in your title . Pretty big oopsie for a self proclaimed master debater like yourself.

Do you think the Rogers crew is just sitting around popping champagne and doing the limbo at this point? Mistakes will be corrected and content quality will be improved as the season goes. Perhaps re-visiting this topic in December would be somewhat more fair. You certainly wouldn't evaluate a hockey club or new employee based on a few shifts. I'm sure everyone on this board would love to go back to watching Leafs or Habs ad-nausea if it meant we could be mentally stimulated by the vaunted desk of the hockey insiders.

A vast majority of the Rogers crew is transitioning from your betrothed TSN/CBC and other local broadcasters. Put some energy like this into something meaningful to the world. It takes time to adjust to new processes and get things right. Until then I suggest a healthy dose of herbal tea and relaxation music - its all going to be ok!
