The Tampa Bay Lightning recalled left wing Jonathan Drouin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, but will not insert him into the lineup Monday against the Edmonton Oilers.

Drouin, the third pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, was on a conditioning assignment with the Crunch after breaking his thumb in training camp.

"He played two [AHL] games on the weekend and had a long day of travel [Sunday]. Edmonton is not the easiest place to get to from Syracuse," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "So we're keeping out of this game, but he will get in at some point on this road trip."

Drouin, 19, scored 29 goals and 108 points in 46 games with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season. It's likely he'll make his NHL debut Tuesday against the Calgary Flames.
