Eternals vs Guardians.

We wasted a lot of time on this over the course of the game and nothing has come out of it. We know that Eternal powers don't work or we will in a few hours. We believe guardian powers to work. One thing I have noticed is that there were no more invites today except for the one from the unknown group. If it were tied to a win condition they would still be recruiting even if it was failing.

My opinion is that there is one mafia person with the power to send invites and they came up with the guardians and the eternals. A very ingenious concept by Mazrim. This person can give out powers that work (maybe, still don't know if guardian powers work) and powers that don't work. I don't think Mafia members can join, it would be the consequence of causing confusion. Get to many people joining and the town figures it out and you lose. This is used to create confusion between the town and did an excellent job.

If you look at the invites it goes

GP_matt - town
Starseed - town
RD - town
Girlysports - claims to have gotten an invite at a time everyone wanted everyone to decline, very convenient this is the only real scummy name on the list.
Mrkajz - declines, town
GGG - town (soon you will see guys)
Drury - declines - likely town (though I am still a little suspicious)
Rathji - accepts - likely town per Oling
I call for the eternals to give us an extra power which would enhance their win condition if it was related. We don't get an invite
Formulate - Gets the power just in time to frame me. - SK.
Diss - Claimed another third party invite - a little suspicious but not sure how to react.

I think I am missing a few of the declines but others can fill in.

Today a broken bulletproof vest gets offered just to make us think there is more out there because we have quit talking about eternals and guardians.

So what does this do for us. First we shouldn't worry about them or any of these other messages becauase they aren't likely tied to win condition.

Second the people on the list who have accepted should be considered town. I am a little more aprehensive about if the people who declined are as safe. Especially the first one which was the perfect opportunity for girly to gain some town cred. Though that may be confirmation bias as I see her as pretty scummy. Also convenient for Diss to as he is on the list of unknowns.
