I'd like to highlight this. If the coaching staff gets some heat for the consistently slow starts this season, I have to give Hartley and his staff credit where credit is due for the second period adjustments. Hartley seemed to know all the right buttons to push, and he didn't seem to just juggle the lines and pairings all night. He re-shuffled the deck in the second, and then for the most part returned to the initial configuration for the rest of the game. He managed 5 D well for the last 40 minutes, returned Stajan to the 4th line to solidify it, moved Byron back up with Backlund and Glencross...it all worked.
A job well done.
