Harvin was dealt for two reasons: One, his cap hit going forward and the fact they have many other guys who need to be locked up. Two, his growing reputation as being a bad locker room guy. Of course that'll play perfectly for the Jets.
Now the Seahawks will be fine as they made the Super Bowl last year with Harvin barely contributing (and as great as he was in the Super Bowl, they still would have won if he didn't play). But trading for him was a horrible mistake, could have had Corderelle Patterson on his rookie deal for 3 more years (plus a 3rd and a 7th). Thankfully for their fans they have a great team and already have overcome it. But it was a terrible trade.
