Sad stuff. I hope he gets better, for himself and his family.
I seem to remember D. Sutter saying something to the effect of "Daniel needs to decide if he wants to play hockey" when Ryder's struggles first appeared. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and I'm not criticizing the organization for how it handled this, but it goes to show how difficult it is to recognize and adequately ddress mental illness in its early stages.
