As noted, the Flames could do that. But it would be foolish. He's going to be nowhere near game shape when he's healthy enough to play, and it will be far easier for him to get back into the flow of things against junior players than he will pros. The better scenario is that he goes back to Kingston once healthy, and if eliminated from the playoffs there, could then go to Adirondack on an ATO for their own playoff run with some games already under his belt.
