I know you have an anti-fighting stance, and I respect that. However, are you really needing an explanation in what these differences are? I am fairly sure you know the differences, and are just seeking another discussion around fighting.
Sorry, this wasn't 'fighting'. This has absolutely nothing to do with a 'fighting' thread. This was a pure goon move, and I am sure even the most ardent critic of fighting doesn't require someone to explain the differences here.
When one guy is not fighting (has his gloves on) but yet is getting blasted by punches (embarrassing enough) and then gets his head picked up and drilled into the ice, it was NOT a fight, and it was a clear move to try and outright injure someone. This is my definition of a goon, and a great example of it. Show me an instance of McGrattan or any other respected fighter or enforcer who does this? Heck, McGrattan usually hangs onto his opponents when they get wobbly so their heads don't smash into the ice (like his fight against Gazdic).
You may not support fighting, and that is really ok. However, I am sure you can see the difference between an outright goon and an enforcer.
