I dont see this as a clear indication that the gauntlet has been thrown down that Wideman is personae non-gratae.
He wasnt good in game 1, but it was only game 1. He has a very successful NHL track record.
At the same time, Wideman is not crucial to the Flames' success at the moment.
Someone would need to offer something pretty decent if they want him. The Flames would almost certainly eat half his salary, but I dont see it as though the Flames actively want to get rid of him.
