Well, the Rangers, who are of course led by Glen Sather, are not exactly renowned for making the most sound hockey decisions (see Scott Gomez & Chris Drury contracts), so there's that to keep in mind.
And it seems Lombardi just isn't the hockey player he used to be in large part thanks to Derian Hatcher.
