I was thinking through this late last night:

Since GP_Matt's death, there appears to be no further invites from the Eternals. The question has been tossed out a few times about who has that invite and it seems no one does. GP_Matt was the original member of the Eternals and they've gone quiet since he died.

Starseed was the original Guardians member and they are actively sending out invites (now at 5) and recruiting. And the recruiting appears to be getting more aggressive and threatening in nature. It also seems more targeted as it looks like the reason they want me is so that I'll layoff GGG and will take his spot once he's killed.

I'm starting to wonder if the same theory of cutting the head off the snake works for the Guardians the same way it works for the Eternals.
