I think overall the team didn't look bad; they didn't look good either though. For them to win games this season, they'll need to play excellent... because the Nucks didn't look good either, and still won the game.
The players I'm most happy with this game are: Brodie, Monahan, Gaudreau, Russell and Bollig
The players I'm least happy with this game are: Wideman x infinity.
I thought the guys we brought in this offseason looked good, Engelland was great. He looks like he'll be a solid #4 for us this year (which is scary, but apparently our GM knew a bit more than some other GMs about this guy). I really feel sorry for Smido, he's going to have an absolutely uphill year being Wideman's partner.
Also, anyone feel like Staj's time in Calgary's coming to an end? He's playing 4th line minutes, he has no A on his chest (as he did for some of last season), and he's not even doing PK anymore (clearly the two favorites are Backlund and Colborne now).
Johnny Gaudreau looks so slick. I feel he's going to put up some points this year. I don't think this year will be an overly fun one as a fan (outside of on Draft day next year), but the young guys will give us something to really cheer for.
