Won't be wireless (wired sound is better anyways) but it'll be versatile, you can set up anything with it, and it won't be too overpowering for apartment life. Doesn't have to be expensive either, I got my stuff on boxing day for less than $500 all in.
I agree, stay away from HTIB they are no good, separate components are so much better.
