Seriously, I think it's a combination of various factors.

1. People rush to 7:00 games without eating and buy two beers and sit down but don't get substantial food until the 2nd intermission. The Dome beer gets absorbed on an empty stomach.

2. The feeling of vertigo from climbing all the stairs, the rake of the seats up the sides of the dome, height of the nosebleeds.

3. The ambient temperature in the Dome is cold because of the ice, therefore the alcohol tastes sweeter and you can drink it faster.

4. More dissolved C02 in the beer due to pumping it from the basement through gas lines.

5. A cup is about 20 ounces. They are also filled up so you chug the top portion quickly while walking to avoid spillage. That can cause more light-headedness.

6. Atmosphere. Drinking at a hockey game is like an intense "fun-drunk" experience combined with anadrenaline rush and a sense of excitement and anticipation.
