I think they are embracing Canadian values. I think the problem lies with the University on this one. How are they able to proclaim they accept all denominations and are open to anyone, then turn around require all students to sign this covenant against homosexuality?
I commend the basics of the argument the company has, however, when the engage in their "opinions" as they call them I think they went too far. They should have held back on a few of the comments but legally I doubt they will have a reprimand for not hiring her. I do think they may be legally liable for their commentary though.
I like that businesses refuse to hire from a certain school based on that school's beliefs. Why not? We hire based on school's good reputation, why not the reverse?
I hate the title here though, no where does it say she wasn't hired for being Christian, that is a separate argument. She was not hired due to her University's beliefs which she attached herself to when she signed the covenant and when she graduated from there. CBC is using leading language to create an inflammatory response, that is disappointing but standard behaviour for the news.
