Not sure if posted elsewhere, but found this on HF (I know, I know):
Quote:
Hi.
I just saw an article in a big swiss newspaper about Baertschi and his demotion to the AHL. There are several interesting quotes, I will translate them for you:
First of all, they quoted his father, saying that Sven worked harder than ever this summer, following his injury at world championship in Minsk. As all of you know, Burke wanted him to bulk up and he did just that and gained 4kg.
His agent Andy Rufener says: "Sven would have deserved a roster spot. This is not even a question, I watched virtually every preseason game. Clearly, Bob Hartley has a problem with Sven.
His father: "Bob Hartley favors/likes physically strong players, Sven is more of a technically strong player. Last year, he got put in a straightjacket and wasn't allowed to play the way he played best [...]"
Then, there's one quote about Hartley blaming Sven for him being reliable for defeats, but I don't want to change the meaning of it too much by using a wrong word..
The newspaper mentions that a lot of teams were interested in Baertschi in case of a trade, but the Flames held on to him and sent him to the A. They follow up with one last quote:
I don't know what else they want Sven to do [to make the team]. A trade would be the best for everyone involved and that's what I'm hoping for. I think we're done with Calgary.
Translations are my own.
