I would imagine that numbers 1 and 2 are very much related to each other in that most road lineups were rubbish around the league this pre-season and therefore teams would be having less time of possession to draw penalties.
Not really worried about Gaudreau either so long as he's getting the appropriate offensive opportunities and ice time. I think anyone critiquing his road play based on pre-season is nothing more than Burke trying to insulate the kid and lower expectations.
