I actually thought this was one Finchers worst efforts.

I know I'm in the minority when it comes to this, but outside of Affleck's performance, there was nothing great about this movie in my eyes. Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, and The Social Network were all better.

It's not his fault, the movie was well acted and well directed - but the story is painful. It hangs it's hat on a single twist, which everyone I saw the movie with saw coming after the first 15 minutes. The whole damn ordeal was made just for a one-line pay-off in a scene between Affleck and insert spoiler name here towards the end of the movie. The whole movie is just an overly cynical look at the institution of marriage. The story was predictable, and the ending is only "wow" because Affleck is a morally bankrupt character who is okay with it. He cheated, he was manipulated, and he is sitting back and throwing his arms up and saying "well, whatever". I know I'm in the minority when it comes to this, but outside of Affleck's performance, there was nothing great about this movie in my eyes.
