Actually, that begs a question. How many NHL games must one play before being considered a "veteran"? The Flames have eight guys on the roster right now (excluding those likely to start on IR) with less than 128 NHL games. Only one, Bollig, would qualify as a professional veteran.

Fully one-third of the lineup comprises of players with less than the equivalent of two NHL seasons. And guys like Brodie and Backlund aren't much further ahead.

Purely subjective on my part, but I would consider someone who has 3 seasons worth of games (240 or thereabouts) under their belt, to be a veteran.
